WINDOWS NETWORK PARAMETERS

The server on the network will automatically assign your computer an address (this is known as DHCP). You may need to adjust the TCP/IP settings for the wireless network card to enable this feature. These settings are located in the network section of the Control Panel.

  1. Click on the Start button.
  2. Click on Settings and then Control Panel.
  3. Double click on the Network icon to open the configuration dialog.

  4. Highlight the line for the TCP/IP settings of the ORiNOCO wireless card and click on Properties to bring up the configuration dialog. Make sure that Obtain an IP address automatically is checked. The server will provide the IP address, DNS settings and gateway address automaticall when the card is inserted. Click on OK to continue.

  5. The last step is to set the Workgroup name so that your computer can see the other computers on the local network. Click on the Identification tab of the network configuration dialog. Change the Workgroup parameter to be SUMMITGROUP.

  6. You might need to (or be asked to) reboot your computer for these changes to take effect.

Your computer is now configured for the local network at Summit Camp. You can read in the other help guides how to access the printer, photo albums and FTP site.
